Berenice Onofre Vásquez A grandmother and advocate for Spanish-speaking families, she will receive her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. Yuxing Jin This Army veteran found support and camaraderie at Cal State LA and plans to earn an MBA and pursue a career in banking. Marrian Zhou She will attend Columbia University in the fall to pursue a master's degree in journalism. John Griffith At 19, he will become an officer in the Marine Corps, but his ultimate goal is to be an astronaut and explore the vast unknown. Wendy Layco An anthroplogy major, she conducted archaeological work in the Philippines and will return to Cal State LA for a master's degree. Reva Ochuba A fashion student, she earned recognition from the New York Times and Vogue magazine during her time at Cal State LA. Christiana Saldana An environmental geography major, she presented research at the American Association of Geographers Annual Meeting in Boston. Shahin Hemat He excelled in class and on the soccer field, earning academic honors from the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Andreína Thielen Martin A nutritional science major, she plans to attend Cornell University in the fall and pursue a master's degree in public health. Pearl Sun An aviation administration major, she interned for the FAA in Washington, D.C. and will pursue a career in the aviation industry.
